CommentLuv, KeywordLuv and Top Commentators

Hey guys! I’m doing some changes to my blog and decided to do a quick update. I’ll be using CommentLuv, KeywordLuv and Top Commentators Wordpress plugins from now on. If you don’t know what these 3 do, I’ll give you a quick explanation:

  • CommentLuv, KeywordLuv:
Those 2 plugins will allow you to publish links with DOFOLLOW link attribute to your site, more information about KeywordLuv can be found at:
    http://www.scratch99.com/wordpress-plugin-keywordluv/
    CommentLuv:
    http://comluv.com/download/commentluv-wordpress/

What this gives to you? Well, those links will be counted by gougle and will help you to rank better as they have dofollow. They’ll have link next (anchor) instead of your regular name as well. It’s really easy to use:

Enter “YourName @ YourKeywords” in the Name field, fill out your website address and you’ll get a full link to your site. For example:

“lelik @ traditional russian pancakes”, website URL http://tasterussian.com/russian-pancakes.html, will leave a comment like this:
    traditional russian pancakes

Please note: i will delete all spam comments and comments like “cool site” “wow” etc. If you have anything to say – good or bad – feel free to do so.

  • Top Commentators
Well. That’s another cool one. See the right sidebar – “Top commentators”. There you can get a link to your site as well. If you do nice comments, if you enjoy my site, if you like my recipes – you’ll always be on the top of the list with link to your website.

I really want to see some feedback about my site – what do you like and what you don’t!

Oh.. And one more quick note: I’m working on a Gallery and new recipe called “pelmeni“. Will update shortly.

Hey, I am always happy to hear about the use of Keyword Luv because it’s such a great way to reward readers for their contributions. You only have to watch out for excessive spam, but I think it’s worth it.

James from cool free games August 18, 2009 at 4:51 am

This keywordluv plugin is great i have to say, have only the praise for it ^^

Its my favourite plugin. Now I am getting a lot of related quality comments on my blog and it really motivates people to comment a lot and leave quality comments :)

Thomas from Watch Gossip Girl Online August 23, 2009 at 1:50 am

Really great choice, after adapting these very same plugins within my blogs I’ve had an amazing increase on my pageviews also comments. They are getting famous and famous which is really awesome! :)

The top commentators plug has a negative for people who make a comments. In some blogs I have commented on my link has been put on every page of their blog, sometimes thousands of pages.

I think this looked dodgy to Google that I suddenly got so many extra links. The site in question went down the Google results. Hence I haven’t left a site address on this blog.

What are your thoughts on this? Would be interesting to get other people’s opinions.

Cheers.

Lelik August 28, 2009 at 11:52 pm

Andre – i don’t know why your site went down, but i know for sure – if you comment on sites that are similar to your niche – it’s a good thing. As far as i know those plugings are really powerful and they really help you to push your rankings high.

It’s not a bad thing to have relevant links. The bad thing is to have lot’s of non relevant ones or links from 1 source. Let’s say you ONLY do social bookmarking- it’s a bad thing. Or you your ONLY comment on forums – it’s not a good thing as well. The bad thing is to have ~500 links a day as well.

The goal is to have all types of links – from blogs, from social media, from forums, from youtube and so on. This blog is new – only a couple of months old. Let’s see what will happen in a future. I hope to get decent update on PR from google in next update – at least pr2-3.

By the way – i know almost nothing about all that stuff, my husband to the promoting :) It was his respond as well

Eugene from RealJobs August 29, 2009 at 7:29 pm

I hope you keep this blog do follow forever, I have noticed many does it for a while then go back to nofollow

Rene from Buy Caviar Online September 2, 2009 at 7:13 pm

Andre – I’ve only posted to very few blogs but somehow I now have about 1100 links. I’ve not used Top Commentors yet but have posted with KeywordLuv and CommentLuv, I wonder if these have the same impact you mention.

It’s really nice, and a good show of faith towards your readers that you’ve implemented these plugins. Not many people do, and as a web site manager I know how important it is that we all do the most we can to help each other. Many thanks.

Nice Blogger from SEO Blog September 4, 2009 at 3:21 pm

Congrats for these changes! I’m a big fan of do follow movement,it’s a pity that these kind of blogs get annoyed by blog spammers.
@Rene KeywordLuv is giving your desired keywords in anchor and CommentLuv is giving a nice deep link to your site, however people that redirects their feed to Feedburner are losing that backlink but still it’s useful since I’ve notice that a small amount of traffic comes from these links.

Paul from errors fix September 8, 2009 at 12:02 am

I’m so glad to see that more and more blogs are adding the Keywordluv plug-in, Comment LUV and Top Commentators! This is something that I use on several of my blogs, but you do have to watch out for spam comments. I think that many people do go back to a no follow blog because they don’t want to deal with the spam, but this plug-in is worth it for all of your readers.

I particularly like keywordluv as it allows the commentator to get a decent link as well as having a descriptive name that will enable them to participate in conversation. Usually you can one have one or the other.

I agree with the comments above. If someone is going to take the time to add valuable information that is going to support your post, then your site becomes more valuable and will get more traffic. The least a blog can do is share some link love for that effort.

I’ve definitely heard that top commentors is the way go. Comment Luv and Keyword Luv are also good. Linking is good, but depending one type or kind of linking, like social bookmarking is probably not the best linking strategy

Mack from Las Vegas Homes September 23, 2009 at 3:06 pm

I really appreciate your courage on invoking the do follow and associated wordpress plugins here. I have been using them on my group of blogs for quite sometime and I have to admit that the rate of traffic has increased considerably. Keywordluv insists my visitors to post something relevant to the topic inorder to get an anchored text link back to their posts. I personally being a great fan of the do follow movement, I try to welcome others who have enabled this feature on their blogs as well. But my sincere wish is that spammers should not take this for granted.

Rg,
Mack!

I love, love, love Russian food. I used to go to a great Russian restaurant in Hong Kong called Ivan the Terrible… the food was great. All old style, home cooking – casseroles and goulash. Yum. All washed down with lashings of vodka, of course! Great site!

Mack from Las Vegas Homes October 15, 2009 at 9:42 am

I welcome your decision of installing those three incredible plugins and congratulate you as well. My blog has them right from its inception and I am ardently participate the do follow movement. I wish to give something back to my blog’s visitors who make relevant comments and keywordluv is the best thing for it. All they have to do is read the post carefully and make a meaningful relevant comment thats it. I wish you all the best and I am sure you would have seen the increase in traffic after you installed this plugin.

Regards,
Mack

I’m just learning about keywordluv and commentluv. I do not think I can use them on my blog because it is a blogspot blog but I have removed nofollow. Seems to be the best that I can do at the moment.

KeywordLuv plug ins and do follows are few of the good things that help increase traffic and numbers of page views. In this aspect, comments flood the comment area thus making it a tedious job to put them in moderation. Giving such consideration that not all comments are sensible enough to read, hence, more time is required. On the other hand, I haven’t realized top commentators are also available. I think I’ll be giving that a try one of these days.

Amy from FreebieJeebies October 31, 2009 at 4:37 pm

This is a brilliant site. Your recipes are really well laid out with good pictures, and not many sites have this, so it’s a real bonus. You should get some more sweet recipes on here!

Michael from Christchurch Motel November 6, 2009 at 6:13 pm

These are great plugins and I am sure that for this reason alone wordpress remains so successful. The opensource really provokes people to build super cool plugins like this for the benefit of webmasters and online promoters. Thanks for casting them on your site. :D I wish you all the best.

Thank you for installing these three remarkable plugins. I add them to my wordpress blogs right from their inception to participate in the do follow movement. I had no idea about these plugins until I learned about them the other day in a marketing course. They are just really amazing, and it is great that so many people are starting to use them. I especially like keywordluv. I still need to start using commentluv.

In just the little amount of time that I have been using keywordluv, I have found a bunch of websites that started using it but then removed it because of spam. So everyone respect the webmasters that allow us to post! They help us a lot!

As a fellow webmaster, I really am thankful
it when other blogs in the blogosphere
enable plug ins like the keywordluv plugin.
Building a website is rapidly becoming so very difficult,
and blog spammers are making it so very difficult
to get good site links your own website.

I’ve subscribed to your website ,thanks for enabling Keyword Luv !

Great site… Thanks for having KWLuv. I read over the site and really enjoyed learning about Russian food. Being a Southern girl, I have never had it but I might try it soon!

Chuck from Alaska Cruise Tours February 12, 2010 at 11:34 pm

KeyWordLuv is a huge draw for comments. It is a win win for both the website and the commenters. With the importance placed by Google on backlinks, offering an anchor text keyword link as a reward for commenting is about as good as it gets. I am sure a lot of people will enjoy learning more about Russian food and will be willing to leave additional information about personal experience and Russian Food Recipes. Thank you for the opportinity to comment on your website.
